How to reset Google Chrome? (For PCs)

But first question you might think of is “Why do I reset Google Chrome?”

Google Chrome is one of the fastest web browsers available on multiple platforms, this guide is written specifically for the Windows version. Over a period of time, Google Chrome or any other internet browser can become cluttered with too. many toolbars, addons, extensions, etc.. These extra bloat of programs can cause sluggishness, reduced screen space, annoying advertisement popups, search redirects to some ad ridden search engines, and in worse case scenarios – virus and spyware infections. These are the few of the many reasons why you would like to reset your browser to default state.  So let’s begin on how to reset Google Chrome? (For PCs)

Resetting Google Chrome does preserve your bookmarks, but you can still sync your bookmarks with Google by logging into Google chrome with your Google account. The only problem here is that Google will also sync your addons, toolbars, etc. You can read this guide to Backup your Google Chrome Bookmarks without logging into a Google Account (to be on a safer side – before you reset Google Chrome)

 

Step 1 :  Click the Google Chrome Menu on top right and click Settings under the same menu :

Step 2 : Click Show Advanced Settings at the bottom of the Settings page :

Step 3 : Click Reset Browser Settings at the bottom of Advanced Settings page :

Step 4 : Confirm the reset by clicking Reset !  :

Done ! Now I have clean, tidy and more responsive Google Chrome!
